Norovirus (NoV) is a member of the family Caliciviridae. NoV is currently divided into at least 10 genogroups (GI to GX) based on phylogenetic analysis of the entire VP1 gene. Each genogroup is subdivided into several genotypes, and a total of 49 genotypes have been identified. The NoV GI and GII are associated with human disease.
